Xiaomi Redmi 5

After many teasers, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi formalizes today it’s Redmi 5 and 5 Plus. Two entry-level devices that display a new “edge-to-edge” design for its 18: 9 screens, with a starting price of around 100 euros!

Chinese manufacturers have always had the reputation of being unbeatable on the price war. But on innovation, it took them some time before they could overcome the negative image of “copiers” that they stuck in spite of themselves until then.

Xiaomi was able to quickly silence the slanderers by releasing the Xiaomi Mi Mix late 2016, becoming the first manufacturer to take advantage of the fashion of the “borderless” having submerged 2017. But the Chinese manufacturer has not finished with the ratio 18: 9: it’s storming the entry level now.

No international release announced

For the moment, and despite the fact that Xiaomi is present on Amazon Spain, international availability of these two models was not mentioned. However, we know that the two devices do not support the B20 (800 MHz) and B28 (700 MHz) bands, which are important for 4G in Europe.

Perhaps we will know more when the release of the two phones in China, scheduled for December 12. To date, you will be able to go through the import if they interest you, at your own risk of course.
